Abstract

The Mini-Counseling Program “Ruang Curhat Bumil” is a community service initiative carried out through the Thematic Community Service Program (KKNT) of Universitas Trunojoyo Madura in Karangasem, Surabaya. Mental health during pregnancy is often challenged by prenatal anxiety, which can affect maternal wellbeing and fetal development. This program was designed to provide a safe and supportive space for pregnant women to express emotions, share experiences, and receive psychosocial assistance. Activities were conducted at the RW 08 Community Hall using a participatory-interactive method involving psychology counselors, students, and pregnant women as active participants. The sessions focused on open discussions about emotional changes, anxiety before childbirth, and concerns regarding fetal health. The findings indicated a noticeable reduction in prenatal anxiety, feelings of relief among participants, stronger social connectedness, and greater awareness of the importance of maintaining mental health during pregnancy. This initiative demonstrates the potential to be developed into a sustainable, community-based counseling model that promotes maternal mental health and social support systems.
