Abstract

The transformation of 21st-century learning in elementary schools requires a paradigm shift in teaching and learning approaches, emphasizing critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. In response to these demands, the Merdeka Curriculum has emerged as a progressive policy to promote student-centered and contextual learning. This study aims to explore the integration of digital literacy within the Merdeka Curriculum in elementary school settings. A qualitative descriptive method was used, involving interviews with teachers, classroom observations, and analysis of instructional documents in selected elementary schools in Indonesia. The findings reveal that digital literacy has been increasingly embedded in daily learning activities, particularly through project-based learning and the use of educational technologies. However, challenges remain in terms of digital infrastructure, teacher readiness, and equitable access among students. This study concludes that while the integration of digital literacy supports the goals of the Merdeka Curriculum, sustained professional development and infrastructural support are crucial for effective implementation.
