Abstract

Learning motivation is one of the crucial psychological factors in determining students’ academic success. This study aims to examine the types, functions, and application of learning motivation in the context of elementary education. The review was conducted using a literature study method by analyzing scientific sources and relevant articles. The findings indicate that both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation significantly influence student participation and academic achievement. Teacher-applied strategies—such as creating a conducive learning environment, offering rewards, and fostering positive emotional relationships prove effective in boosting learning enthusiasm. With proper motivation, students become more confident, resilient, and adaptive in facing educational challenges.
