Abstract

Every student has a good character is one of the goals of almost every school. To have a good character, schools implement character education through cultivation and habituation. This research was conducted at SD Islam Ta'allumul Huda Bumiayu because based on the results of observations, the school has unique habituation activities that are not owned by schools in Bumiayu. This research was conducted using a qualitative research method with a qualitative approach. The research data in this study were data on the application of the reading of the pledge in habituation activities in character education. The data collection method used observations made during the implementation of the reading of the pledge, interviews with the principal and teachers, and documentation studies. The results of the data collection were then analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results of the study were that SD Islam Ta'allumul Huda Bumiayu implemented character education through cultivation and habituation with the reading of the pledge with prayers in 3 languages. This has a positive impact on students such as religious values, self-confidence and leadership can be applied and there are achievements obtained by students of SD Islam Ta'allumul Huda Bumiayu. This is proven by data from documentation studies and interviews with the principal which stated that in 2017 SD Islam Ta'allumul Huda Bumiayu received 80 trophies from various fields.
